Skokie Valley Agudath Jacob is becoming more sustainable!

We were thrilled to have received the 2019 and 2020 Hazon Seal of Sustainability, a set of criteria celebrating the work of the joint Skokie Valley Agudath Jacob and Kol Sasson green team along with more than 60 Jewish organizations across the country, as a national leader in the realm of Jewish sustainability. 

To receive this certification, we made the following significant improvements: weekly composting at kiddush, tree planting around the building, elimination of styrofoam and significant reduction of plastic / replacement with compostable cutlery and plates, and energy efficiency upgrades and improvements. We are proud of our commitment to sustainability, to building a stronger, healthier community, and to renewing this process for coming years.
